Kya kya
Kya kya means jalan-jalan; hang out (is it the correct word in English for kya-kya/jalan-jalan?). That’s what I did today. After cleaning up the flat, I went to Somerset. I went there to go to hello (SingTel) store and buy a top-up card. My mom sent me an SMS and I have to reply it soon. Unluckily, the credit in my cell phone was not enough to send an SMS. So I have to buy a top-up card soon. I didn’t know where to buy the top-up card around here, so I decided to go to the only one hello store that I know, in Somerset.
I took the MRT to Somerset for 20 minutes. After arriving there, I chose Exit B to Orchard Road because the hello store is on the Orchard. It was crowded on the Orchard and the sun shone brightly. There were some booths promoting their products. Some of them are promoting 3G, the new technology in mobile communication, some are promoting the new Samsung MP3 player, and the most attracting booth was Coca-Cola. They were giving free 500ml bottled coca-cola for everyone! I grabbed one bottle of cold coca-cola and drank it immediately. It quenched my thirst. Nice!
A few minutes later, I’d been in hello store. I bought a $15 top-up card and top-up my credit right away. At that time, I had all the important things done. So I planned to go to Suntec City Mall. I took the MRT from Somerset to City Hall.
I arrived at City Hall MRT Station on 2 o’clock. Then I walked to Suntec City Mall via Citylink Mall. Citylink Mall is an underground mall that is connecting Raffles City Mall, Esplanade, Suntec City Mall, and Marina Square. I also visited Esplanade, walking on the Esplanade’s terrace, and visited the art library inside the Esplanade. It was my first time visiting public library in Singapore. I was amazed by the interior design of the library and the technology that is used for borrowing and returning books, video, and CDs from the library. I was also amazed by the people here, they have a big enthusiasm in reading. They are balancing their lifes with hard working, reading books in the library, doing some sports, and having enough entertainment.
Okay, I think that’s all for today. I am so tired now. I left my flat on the noon and came back here on 8.30. I spent over 8 hours standing and walking!! I was standing on the MRT, I was walking around the Orchard, Esplanade, Suntec City, and CityLink Mall. I was also walking for hours in Funan IT Mall!! Now I feel that my feet are swollen… T_T
