Orientation week
Yesterday is the first day of the SP’s Freshmen Orientation Programme (FOP). The purpose of the orientation programme is to introduce SP campus and its facilities to the freshmen. This is how my day began…
I woke up at 7 and got hurry having my breakfast before taking a shower. I also had to take my clothes from the washing machine and hang them on. Since I’m living here alone, I have to take care myself and the flat. I have to do all the housework. Mopping the floor, cleaning up the toilet, washing my clothes, do some groceries shopping; I’m not used to these… T_T I left my flat around 8 o’clock and walked to the campus for 15 mins. I met new friends and discovered so many things about SP on my first day of the FOP. Most of my new friends are local students. It’s a little bit difficult for me to understand what they’re saying as the english they’re speaking has different intonation. It sounds like they’re speaking chinese. Hehehe… On the other hand, it’s also a lil’ bit difficult for them to understand what I’m saying. They said that my intonation is uncommon for them. Is my english that bad? T_T
I’ve been here for days, and I’m getting accustomed to the english here. But still, I’m asking for clearness in most of my dialogue with the people here. While the language isn’t a big problem for me anymore, the food is still. There’s so many kinds of food here. Indian, Malay, Thai, and Chinese food. I’ve tried some indian food and most of them are spicy and flavorful. Indian curry is the only one indian food I like most. Thai food is tasty and some of them are spicy. I like their salad and crabmeat fried rice. And my favorite food here is originated from Malaysia; nasi lemak! It tastes like Indonesian’s nasi campur. Hahahah!! Ow, I missed the chinese food… I don’t really like the chinese food here. It’s like… umm… odok-odok… And I somehow don’t really like the taste. He…he… ^~^’
Tomorrow is SP’s flag day. Every SP’s freshmen is encouraged to join this activity. We’re going to do some charity. ^_^v Tomorrow morning we’re going to get a lime-green coloured Tee, and a tin for collecting the bucks. I’m gonna be around the Somerset by noon. Can’t wait for the flag day… It’ll be fun!
Okay, I’m going to bed now. Thanks for reading my blog. Feel free to leave comments as it helps me much in improving my english, especially my writing skill. I will consistently use my free time to compose a writing about my day and publish it here.
