Get some DVDs
Today I… I did my daily routines. The first lesson I had was VB practical class at 10. But before the VB class, I did my Library Club duty at BizIT Library. I walked to the campus at 8.50 and heading to BizIT Library. I arrived at 9 and did DVDs shelving. I met Jackson minutes later after starting my duty. He came early to Library’s PC Zone to do his VB practical questions. I enjoyed shelving the DVDs
By shelving the DVDs, I also explored the BizIT Library’s DVDs collection.
It made me disregard the time.
At 10 I finished my library duty and walked to T2023 with Jackson for our VB practical class. We learnt about arrays. I did some practical questions about array and continue my VB project. The next class was UWOS. As usual, most of my classmates fell asleep during the UWOS lecture class. It’s a bit (or very?) boring subject, especially when we came into Unix part. Ooh… More and more students fell asleep as the lecture talked about more and more technical term. Fortunately, I had had enough sleep last night and didn’t fall asleep at all. Also, this subject is interesting for me. I got so much new information here. Now I know how files are stored and organised on Hard Disk. How the partition differs the file organisation. So many cool things here! Hehehehe…
On today’s Unix lecture class we learnt about "umask" to set security permission on folders and files. Compared to permission settings in Windows, Unix’s is more complicated. Some (simple) binary computation is involved in setting the permission. (cool!)
At 1 pm Unix class ended and… Lunch time!
Hehehehe… We went to Foodcourt 6 and had our lunch.
Eh… Before we went to Foodcourt 6, we accompanied Tio Yong to School of InfoCommTech Admin. He needed to submit his MC (medical certificate). While we were waiting Tio Yong submitting his MC, Guan Chuan took our photo.
Gary, Jackie, Terry, and I were on the photo. The photo is not so clear because the lighting was not bright enough. The photo is blurry with some noise on it, making us looked worse. :P (really… I’m not blaming the photo.. We all look better than that on the photo!
) I’ll put the photo on my photo album soon.
Okay… Lunch time was over, the next class was waiting… On 1.30 we walked from T20… down the hill to T17 and met our DBMS teacher. I consulted my EERD (Enhanced Entity Relationship Diagram) for DBMS group project (me, Daryl, and Jackie). Beside project consulation, we also had some exercises on Normalisation.
The next class was CRS (Critical Reasoning Skill). Today we went to computer lab. We did something different today. Our CRS teacher had just created a new blog this morning. She posted some opinions and we were supposed to comment them, of course critical comments. We went to http://lollipopthots.blogspot.com and choose 1 or 2 topics to be commented. I hadn’t finished my comment when the teacher said the time’s up. So I just clicked on Post Comment. Half of my comment was still in Indonesian. I hadn’t finished translating them! T_T Sad… At the end of the CRS class, I came to the teacher and explained the problem. I was so lucky! The teacher allowed me to finish my translation at home and re-post my comment later. Waaah… She’s so kindhearted!
After my last class on this day, I, Wei Keong, Guan Chuan, and Jackson went to Main Library to borrow some DVDs. I borrowed Wallace & Gormit (a animated cartoon, similar to Chicken Run). Wei Keong suggested me Deep Impact, a movie similar to The Day After Tomorrow, The Core, and Armageddon. So I borrowed Deep Impact too, and a magazine about Web Design. Hohohoho… enough entertainment for this weekend. Two DVDs and an interesting UK magazine. Guan Chuan and Jackson borrowed some Audio CDs. I cannot remember the album title they’re borrowing except Maroon5. Jackson borrowed that.
That’s all for today.
I’m going to watch Deep Impact after this.
I can only enjoy my weekend tonight. I have to do my projects tomorrow because I’m going off for a whole day on Sunday. Oh ya! I forget to tell you all… I, Jackson, Guan Chuan, and Wei Keong are going to Escape Theme Park on Sunday!
It must be fun!!
Okay. That’s all for today! Thank you for reading my blog.
As usual, click on "Comments" to leave your comments, thoughts, or opinions.
Hey! Do you notice some strange spelling? Please let me know if I made any mistakes.
I was learning US English since I was a kid. So I am used to use US English words and grammar. But here, UK English is used everywhere. So I have to alter the way I speak, the way I write, the way I pronounce words… I’m learning to use UK English words here…
"organise", not "organize"
"flat", not "apartment"
"utilise", not "utilize"
I’m also learning to pronounce those words correctly in UK English. There are some differences in word pronounciation of "red", "white", "dance", and lots more!
