FYP Phase 1

Yipee~The first phase of Final Year Project (FYP) is finally completed! After weeks of sleepless nights and heavy load on this project, a comprehensive report is delivered together with pretty back-end and front-end application.Kudos to the team! Previous posts are all about kopi and kopi. Hehe..Oh BTW, nearly everybody in Supernova team is coffee-mania!Alright, Back to the story…We’re busy with the FYP since week one of this semester. Well, even before week one. Haha..The following photo is taken by Lan in Main Library during semester holiday; several weeks before the FYP officially started! We discussed ‘Atomik’ and wrote the proposal in less than 5 days.At main library, left-to-right: WaiYan, ThantZin, Chris, WaiPhyoIn the first week of this semester, SupernovaTeam went to VivoCity to test the existing system of interactive billboard in a store at VivoCity. This interactive billboard has the same nature as our FYP, touchy-feely…On NEL train left-to-right: Chris, WaiPhyo, Karen. See the reflection of the other tree guys on train’s window? Left-to-right: WaiYan, PyiSoe, ThantZin.We also visited client’s office at Red Hill to test the device and note its capabilities. This information helped us in later weeks of system design and implementation.The client didn’t gave us detailed specifications of the application they expect. This simply means there are more rooms for us to play-around and poke-around with different designs. We have to be creative yet critical in our design decisions.The first few weeks were full of discussion and try-outs of design ideas, mild ideas as well as wild ideas. We spent many hours in a week just to discuss concept and design of the system.Besides long discussion in Main Library and BizIT Library, we also spent hours to read references, both online and offline. Library has big collection of magazine and book which gave us good design inspiration.More than often, we stayed in campus until really late. We had dinner at Food Court 3 and continued working on the project. Below, ThantZin and WaiYan discussed about diagram and specification at T16 study area.After our hard work in 7 weeks, we finally completed our phase one report. Comprehensive, detailed, and pretty. We printed three quarter of the report in our lab, the rest of it is A3 pages. We printed A3 pages at print shop near Food Court 3.We’re proud of our hard work!
