This is how ‘freezing cold’ really is
Some days in December were misty and really cold, as cold as our home fridge’s freezer at -6ºC. The sun looked small and shone shyly during the day.

The white dot in the photo above is the shy sun. To me, it looks like bright moon instead of sun, coz the sun that I know for the past twenty years is always bright, hot, and skin-tanning. Haha..
Still on the same topic about cold and misty day: On another misty day in December, we left our office after lunch break to join Chinese Calligraphy class near our hostel. (I’ll post photos and story about this Calligraphy class in another post, still under Interestingness series)

The photo above was taken after we were back from the office, at around 1.30PM at our hostel’s basketball field. It doesn’t look like in the noon at all, does it? Misty and half-bright… Anyway, it was cold, misty, and windy day.
Still on the same topic about cold and misty day: The following two were taken after work near our office. It was still at 5.30PM, but it was as dark as 7.30PM in Singapore.

Still on the same topic about cold and misty day: We climbed Mount Tai on 30 Dec. It’s really cold there. The coldest place I’ve ever been so far. To illustrate the ‘freezing cold’, I’m gonna share my first experience in freezing my own drink…
I bought a bottle of Green Tea; it was fine and in a form of liquid when I broke the seal and opened the cap. Ten minutes after opening it, thin layer of iced green tea was formed around the upper part of the bottle. Half an hour later when I reached the peak of Mount Tai, most of the green tea was frozen. The bottle neck was clogged by iced green tea. I couldn’t drink it anymore.
Interestingness02: The sun is very weak in winter. It rises at around 7.30AM and sets at around 5.30PM. Some of the days in winter are very misty, cold, and windy. Imagine staying in a city which is inside a huge fridge. Once in a while there’s real freezing cold wind sweeping the street. In the morning we can see puddles of water frozen into thin slippery layer of ice. All drinks on the shelf are sold in cool condition, just like when we take bottled drink from 7eleven Drink Fridge. Drinking the cool bottled drink in very low temperature, such as at the mountain or highlands, might freeze it into iced drink.
