Projects
Overview of projects that have been keeping me busy lately:
1. Human-Computer Interaction CS3240
The first project up on the list is ShuttleNet, an interactive kiosk displaying shuttle bus arrival information, route, schedule, and map. This interactive application is built using Flash from scratch with user-centered approach—gathering input from the users during design phase and continue involving them in usability tests in implementation phase.
The result? An attractive interactive system that works the way users expect it to be, effectively delivering information in a visually pleasing manner.
2. Elements of User Interface Design CS3249
This project emphasizes on user interface design of a Wiimote-controlled game. The interface design includes player interaction design (via Wiimote and Nunchuk), gameplay design, game visual design, and game experience design.

Some graphic elements are reused for another T-rated game called Musical Disaster:
Musical Disaster went through several iterations of usability study and test to improve user experience and overall game play. Here’s the refined version:
3. Principles of Visual Communication NM2208
The study of visual communication greatly improves my understanding of the importance of visual design and organization for effective communication. Principles of visual communication were used extensively during the development of all the aforementioned projects.
Each visual design topic was covered thoroughly and coupled with relevant practice avenue to apply the design principles. In general, the principles are spread across six design challenges within 10-12 weeks. Check out how I designed
story book, postcard, poster, photo story, signage, and object manipulation. Or see my visual communication blog.
Drop me a line if you prefer the paper-feel of those works.
