Blog Action Day

Today is blog action day. Every fifteenth October bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind. The theme for this year is: the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic.

I believe everyone plays a big role in saving the environment and we should start the move in our daily life. There are many environment-friendly actions that you can apply to your daily life and they mean a lot for our mother earth, especially when many people do these together.

I found a great Facebook application named ‘I Am Green’. I added this application to my profile and populate it with many leaves which contribute a lot to the environment. I think you should try that too.

Besides being nice to our mother earth, taking green actions in our daily life brings many other positive things like:

  • Better health. Green movements encourage us to walk and cycle more instead of driving or riding motorcycles.
  • Less monthly bill. Optimizing air conditioner’s temperature and cleaning its filter, installing aerator on water tap, and many other useful tips will definitely reduce your utilities bill.
  • Higher personal savings. Carrying water bottle and refilling it saves a lot. How much dollars do you spend in a month buying drinks in can, plastic bottle, or plastic cups? Not to mention the waste we contribute to the landfill. How about buying used books to save the trees? Used books are also easy on our pocket
  • Good mood. With all those good things mentioned above, how can we not get a good mood? emoticon wink Blog Action Day
  • There are a lot more benefits you can get. Think about it..

If you have an account in Facebook, try the ‘I Am Green’ application. It has tons of useful and practical tips for a greener life. I have added and practiced more than 50 green actions in my daily life. How about you?

The Marketplace

There are so many offers, opportunities, and promotions floating around my IM, e-mail, and everywhere else. It’s a good time to compile them in a single place so I can keep track of them.

Check out the new tab, ‘Marketplace’ between ‘Archives’ and ‘Links’ tab above. It’s a good place for me to come back at my spare time to check those offers. For you, dear blog reader, it’s also a great place to discover things you might need at this moment. And for the sellers and publishers, it’s another place to extend their coverage, reaching more potential readers.

marketplace The Marketplace

The idea behind this Marketplace is pretty simple. Connecting trusted circle of friends to help them circulate stuff among themselves. Unlike eBay, Mocca, or other websites that have thousands of users from newbies to potential intruders. They’re all there selling their stuff to strangers.

mocca The Marketplace

In short, this small Marketplace is a great place to buy and sell stuff among ourselves with very low risk of fraud, identity theft, and other common problems in big online classifieds websites. But if you are looking for bigger and broader audience, you should use eBay, Mocca, or those-alike websites to reach more people.

Items posted on Marketplace page are currently my personal items as well as those from my friends. If you have anything you want to put up there or take any of those offers, please contact me via Contact page or leave a comment below.

‘The first real web-based word processor’

I have tried several online word processor and most of them are based on Ajax scripting. Buzzword is flash-based, allowing you to interact more with document you are working on. It has cool dark UI and neat animation. I haven’t tried this application much, but the toolbar and options look promising.

Try it yourself and let me know if you discover any cool feature(s) there. emoticon wink Fauxto Buzzword

With the popularity of C# ever increasing in the industry, is it a time to change lane from VisualBasic to C#? I’m still wondering why some faculties still stick to VisualBasic curriculum..

Common mistakes made by new Mac users

I found this interesting article about common mistakes made by new Mac users. I was among those new users and yes, I did most of the mistakes listed down here.

If you are a new Mac user and do those common mistakes, don’t worry.. I took some times to get rid of my Windows-way thinking and concept. After a while, you’ll be glad to be one among those who are working on an environment that is as intuitive as your intuition. emoticon wink Common mistakes made by new Mac users
Hey, I’m glad to be among them too~
