Overview of projects that have been keeping me busy lately:

1. Human-Computer Interaction CS3240

The first project up on the list is ShuttleNet, an interactive kiosk displaying shuttle bus arrival information, route, schedule, and map. This interactive application is built using Flash from scratch with user-centered approach—gathering input from the users during design phase and continue involving them in usability tests in implementation phase.

The result? An attractive interactive system that works the way users expect it to be, effectively delivering information in a visually pleasing manner.

Validation

Wiki: In psychology and human communication, validation is the reciprocated communication of respect which communicates that the other’s opinions are acknowledged, respected, heard, and (regardless whether or not the listener actually agrees with the content), they are being treated with genuine respect as a legitimate expression of their feelings, rather than marginalized or dismissed.

This inspiring short film is about the human spirit imbued with the power of optimism and positive thinking, which reminds me of yellow “Live Strong” bracelet I’m wearing. Find out more about the yellow bracelet and Lance Armstrong from the official website.

Although there are a few other concrete cases where the impact of positive thinking is strongly interlinked with physical healing, the accuracy is still debated.
